Once the cornerstone of social life in the area and still one of the most popular spots, The Royal Duke has a rich 83-year-old history. This was the place to meet friends in the heart of Okotoks and the original structure was a three-storey brick buildings.

The Royal Duke Hotel Eatery & Pub was actually born in 2011 and was made over to be much like The Royal Duke. The goal was to create another excellent spot for family and friends to meet for foo and fun. The Chinook Honey Company is a family-owned and operated store just south of Okotoks serving the area since 2004. The doors opened for retail honey sales in June 2004 just south of Okotoks near Calgary. This small shop is located at Box 12, Site 14, RR1 in the Okotoks area and is open all week except Tuesdays for the community to enjoy.

As of 2007 they are offering mead, a honey wine, in their product line and because of this addition, the Chinook Honey Company and the Chinook Arch Meadery has spread like wild. If you’re looking for a store selling natural, pure honey and even fine mead, these speciality items are found at the Chinook Honey Company.

Opened in 1994 River's Edge Golf Club is one of the top choices in the Okotoks area. It was designed by former Canadian Tour Professional Ed Engelhardt and his son. The course started as just a nine hole course with the South Nine opening in 1994 and the North Nine opening ten years later.

River's Edge Golf Club was selected as the host club for the 2010 Alberta Ladies Amateur Championship and was renovated in many ways for the event. Today, it's a very challenging course measuring about 7,000 yards from the championship tees and about 5,200 yards from the front tee box.

The course includes Death Valley, which is holes 13, 14 and 15. They run along the river and have very narrow fairways with 50-foot Poplar trees surrounding them. You will also get

The Okotoks Bisons are Okotok’s favourite hockey team and are ranked as a Junior B Ice Hockey team. They are part of the South Division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League with home games played at the Murray Arena. They were founded back in 1985-86 and their general manager is Jay McFarlane alongside head coach Mike Hannigan.

They rock the blue, red and white team colours. While they were once called the Okotoks 85ers and original played in the Southern Alberta Junior Hockey League, today they are associated with the South Division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League. The Okotoks Dawns Baseball team provides plenty of fun and entertainment every easy. They play at Seaman Stadium in the WMBL. The team has even been the champions four times including 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Here's what you can expect from this baseball team.

Seaman Stadium

The stadium has a capacity for 3,000 fans and provides a natural grass surface. It was constructed in 2007 and provides a full service minor league level stadium with a 45-foot by 30toof scoreboard. Duvernay Fieldhouse was added to the complex in 2009 to give the team a full size, indoor place for training. It includes a full Filed Turf Infield, six batting cages, four movable mounds and two permanent mounds.
