A great way to explore the city of Okotoks is by taking in the culture through various attractions. The Okotoks Art Gallery is a great place to start. It’s an art gallery reflecting the town’s dynamic energy and creativity. Since Okotoks is a progressive town with an importance on the vibrant art scene, it’s a popular attraction.

About Okotoks Art Gallery

The Okotoks Art Gallery is located in the historic 1929 CPR Railway Station. Inside, the gallery features two gallery space containing exhibitions, an area serving as a Visitor Information Centre for the city and a gift shop selling Canadian and local artisan wares.

It opened back in 1981 after the former train station closed and the Town purchased it in 1980 for $1. It was reopened to be a Cultural and Tourist Information Centre. It was devoted to art and visual culture exhibits and later in 2009, the gallery was rebranded to be called the Okotoks Art Gallery and renovated under the management of the Town of Okotoks.

Visiting the Gallery

You can visit the gallery Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am to5pm. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Along with visiting the gallery, you can rent it for your next event or an arts and crafts workshop.

You’ll get to experience an ongoing series of historical and contemporary exhibits upon visiting the gallery. In addition to the ever-changing exhibitions, there are events and programs for adults, families and seniors to connect and explore art.
