What will You Discover at the Chinook Honey Company?

The Chinook Honey Company is a family-owned and operated store just south of Okotoks serving the area since 2004. The doors opened for retail honey sales in June 2004 just south of Okotoks near Calgary. This small shop is located at Box 12, Site 14, RR1 in the Okotoks area and is open all week except Tuesdays for the community to enjoy.

As of 2007 they are offering mead, a honey wine, in their product line and because of this addition, the Chinook Honey Company and the Chinook Arch Meadery has spread like wild. If you’re looking for a store selling natural, pure honey and even fine mead, these speciality items are found at the Chinook Honey Company.

Hours of Operation

The store is open Sundays and Mondays from 12pm-5pm. On Tuesdays, they are closed, but they open again on Wednesday until Saturday from 10am-5pm.

Visiting the store

This small family run honeybee apiary features a ton of great honey products at the store. You’ll find Honey and Apitherapy products including delicious consumable honey products, handmade beeswax candles, specialty honey giftware, locally made honey body care line and so much more.

Stock up on honey soaps and products from the apitherapy line and jars of honey to add to the kitchen. Apitherapy is the medicinal use of honey bee products from ancient times and you can find products like ointments, drops, jelly capsules and more.

You probably didn’t know you could take tours at the Chinook Honey Company. They offer Meadery and Apiary Tours. Since Chinook Arch Meadery is Alberta’s first honey winery, tours and tastings are available during regular store hours. Apiary tours feature a visit with the bees. Prices are around $10 for a tour.
